Water diseases
While searching on the internet me, Diana Diaz a student at south East High School decided to work on water diseases. While looking for something to write about I ran into some website (http://www.dropinthebucket.org/content/water-facts). Did you know that more than half of Africa’s people lack access of safe drinking water? Africa doesn’t really have any access on getting clean and safe water. We people in America don’t really take Care of our water situation. We always take advantage of it and don’t really realize that there are other people other than us that need water access. Stated on the website said, “In developing countries, one person uses an average of ten liters of water per day, In the United States; one person uses an average of 75-80 gallons in the same period of time.” This is real serious problem because we take a lot of water more than what other people even can get in a very long period of tine. Another fact “is every flush of the toilet uses the same amount of water that one person in the third world uses all day for washing, cleaning, cooking, and drinking.” One real problem we have to find a solution to be that we need to start saving some water for those in needs because we are not the only ones that need water. Stated by (http://www.dropinthebucket.org/content/water-facts) in the past 10 years, diarrhea has killed more children world wide than all the people lost to armed conflict since World War II. Twelve million people die each year from lack of safe drinking water, including more than 3 million who die from waterborne diseases. Over 80% of the disease in developing countries is related to poor drinking water and sanitation. Now I honestly don’t think this is all realated but I interviewed Alberto Romo who sai, “it is true many coutries do have the same problem with water.” In Asia and in Africa women have to walk an aproximate of 6. km which is 3.75 miles just to get water. This is the average of what they walk besides walking to get water they carry about 20 kg or 44 lbs of water. Women are amore concern when it comes to water realse disease. Which leaves them with short amount of time to get educated or give themn any time for ecconomic efforts. Not just in Africa do womenhaveto walk 3.75 miles but also one-third of women in Egypt walk more than in some parts of Africa, women expend as much as 85% of their daily energy intake on getting water, increasing incidences of anemia and other health problems.n an hour a day for water. My poit of view is that we really have some problems that need to befixed. We need to start thinking of other countries and save some water not just use it all at once.
